Guide to Smith Lens Tints
Visible Light Transmission (VLT) is the percentage of available light allowed to reach the eye. Different lens tints offer specific VLT to enhance vision in various light and weather conditions. Lighten up those cloudy days with a higher VLT (allowing more light to come through). Or catch some shade on those bright and sunny days with a lower VLT. Either way you can balance out the light for a more comfortable view.

Polarized Rose Copper: Polarized rose copper lens tint provides the truest color, object definition, and glare reduction. Designed to filter out visual noise, reduce eye fatigue, and cut through haze in sunny to partly cloudy conditions. 25% VLT.
Gold Mirror Sol-X: Dark sienna brown, Sol-X base lens tint with a multi-layer gold mirror cuts glare and reduces eye fatigue in sunny conditions. 7% VLT.
Platinum Mirror: Rose base lens tint increases depth perception in very sunny to partly cloudy conditions. Platinum mirror coating provides increased glare protection. 25% VLT.
Red Mirror: Gray base lens tint with a multi-layered red mirror cuts glare and reduces eye fatigue in bright, sunny conditions. 30% VLT.

RC36: The universal lens tint. Combines rose and copper base tints. Provides the absolute best vision in most conditions. Increases depth perception and cuts glare in all conditions. 36% VLT.
Gold: Gold base lens tint filters out blue light for enhanced shadow contrast in moderately flat light conditions. 42% VLT.
Gold Lite: An outstanding multi-purpose lens tint that filters reflected blue light to provide superior contrast, shadow definition, and depth perception in bright, overcast, and flat light conditions. 55% VLT.
Yellow: A vibrant lens tint that increases visual acuity in extremely flat and low light conditions. 68% VLT.
Clear: The ideal lens for nighttime use. 84% VLT.
